L. M. 'Sambo' Hendrix Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1929 - 2008 Funeral services for L. M. 'Sambo' Hendrix, 78, of Honey Island will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 8, 2008 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Big Sandy Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Hendrix died September 4, 2008 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Honey Island, Mr. Hendrix was a retired farmer. Sambo was a 50 year member of both Silsbee and Kountze lodges. Survivors include brothers R. J. Hendrix of Dumas, Arkansas and L. D. Hendrix of Woodville; sister Tommie Jean Williams of Honey Island and twenty nieces and nephews.

Sambo, I am so sorry we did not know you had passed. We would of been there. You were a good friend to all and we have missed you. I always asked anyone I talked to from Kountze if they knew how you were doing...We never heard you had passed. Fly high my friend..make a beautiful garden in Heaven and save some of those vegetables for us.. To Sambo's relatives, our sincere condolences..

WE ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT SAMBO. HE WAS ALWAYS SO NICE TO US AND ALWAYS ASKED ABOUT OUR FAMILY. HE WILL BE MISSED.
