KILLINGER- Doris Mae Killinger, 90, of Greenville, went home to her Lord Friday, September 26, 2008 at the home of her daughter and son-in law and under the care of Spectrum Health Hospice. She was born March 23, 1918 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of George and Mary (Marton) Searle. Doris was born the oldest of five children. She loved looking after her younger brothers and sisters. She also helped with the care of her grandmother and great-grandmother. She always wanted to be a missionary. She was married shortly after graduating from high school and started a family. Her mother always always told her that when she married and began a family, she would become a missionary, teacher, and nurse for them. She was a very devout Christian woman who never complained about anything. Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond W. Broad; her second husband, Morris Killinger; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Ron Stone; her brother, Martin Searle; her brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Viola Searle; her brother-in-law, Ted Powell; her sister and brother-in-law, Vida and Ralph Mattingly; and her step-son, Charles Killinger. She is survived by her children, Raymond G. and Phyllis Broad of Georgia, Kevin L. Broad of Virginia, and Karen and William E. Raymor III of Greenville; her step-children, Marge Killinger, Mary Grasser, Pat and Bill Dwyer, William and Janet Killinger, and Marcia Sipe; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
