Maxine Mae Harris age 74 of Greenville died Sunday evening October 5, 2008 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus East Grand Rapids, MI. She was born on May 26, 1934 the daughter of Chester S. and Anna Petersen Maule in Otisco Township Ionia County MI. She was married to Eldred S. Harris in Greenville on May 26, 1974 and was retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Co (WCI) with 38 ½ years of service, was a member of the Greenville Women of the Moose, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary # 4406 and the Local # 137 UAW.
She was preceded in death by her daughters Estephanie Harris in 2002 and Connie Shoen on Aug 26, 2008 and her brother Clayton Maule and brother Kenneth Maule killed in action in WW II.
She is survived by her husband El and her children; Beatrice Harris of Grand Rapids, Theresa and Ed Stokely of Gowen, Ed and Tracy Harris of Caledonia, Jerry and Gay Harris of Greenville, Joe Harris Speiser and her husband Tim Speiser of Grand Rapids, Bill and Jackie Harris of Greenville and Keitha Harris of Walker, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sisters Margaret Warner and Ruth Wilson both of Belding and Arlene Townsend of Greenville and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Friday October 10, 2008 at 2 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. William Overton of Family Life Center Church of God officiating with burial in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be on Friday from noon to 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice.
