Richard passed away peacefully Sunday morning at home from cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Dick was born in Belding MI on November 5, 1934 to Leonard and Virginia (Hall) Grimm. He moved to Casnovia, MI at the age of seven and attended Kent City schools, graduating in 1953 .

Dick was in the National Guards until he joined the Army in 1955 with the 10th Military Police Co, becoming an expert rifleman in competition and sniper training. On August 14, 1955 he married Connie McDaniel in Manton Michigan and in October she joined him in Germany. After three years in Germany they settled in Greenville. Dick retired at the age of 51 from Greenville Tool & Die Company in 1986 after 31 years. He was a lifetime member of the Flat River Conservation Club and a very active worker for almost 50 years and on the Board of Directors nearly as many years. He was a Range Master, one of the CCW instructors and organized the pistol league. Dick was a trapper in early years and always an avid fisherman and hunter, his favorite being ice fishing. He also enjoyed camping with his family and going on many fishing trips with friends. He had very special love for his children and grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years Connie; Mother-In-Law Irene McDaniel of Grand Rapids; two sons, Dick E & Veronica, Dan & Lori of Greenville; two daughters, Denise Grimm of Greenville and Dawn & Rog Geers of Sparta. Grandchildren Jason Grimm, Jeremy (Cyndi) Grimm, Rebekah Grimm, Danielle(Lance) Wondergem, Amber(Lance) Nummer, Cory Westbrook, Bradley Ruge, and three step grandchildren, Heath Geers, Josh(Nikki) Burns & Rachel Hufford. He really enjoyed his 11 great grandchildren, Tanner, Keygan, Mackenzie, Coltin, Brooklynne, Megyn, Bow & Jazmyn (twins), CJ, Abby and Paige. He also is survived by his brother Terry (Sandy) Cobb of Alaska MI and his brother-in-law Dennis (Win) McDaniel of Manton MI, nieces & nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his father in 1954 & Mother 1971 and eight year old son Dean in 1978.

Dear Connie and Family: Our thoughts are with you at this time of your tremendous loss. We are sorry we aren't in Greenville so that we could personally convey our feelings. Dick was such a stalwart for the club, he was truly a go to guy regardless of what it was that was needed. A participant, decision maker and always a volunteer - it is people like him that members today can thank for the clubs viability for these many years. To say he will be missed is a gross understatement.
