Mrs. Mabel Rydahl Maller, age 101, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in Grand Rapids. She was born June 1, 1907 in Fairplain Township, the daughter of Chamello and Carrie (Hansen) Rydahl. She graduated from Greenville High School and Ferris College. She was a model in New York City for ten years before marrying Dr. William Maller in 1938. She worked in their offices in the Bronx and Manhattan until retirement. Mabel and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world in their retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Henry Rydahl; and her niece, Judy Yonkers. She is survived by her sister, Velma Goodenough of Sheridan; two nieces ; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Raybrook Manor Chapel (2121 Raybrook Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546), Rev. George Aupperlee officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 prior to the service. Interment will be in South Sidney Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Hillside Community Church Compassion Fund (1440 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508).
