Francis Michael Karns age 92 of Greenville died Monday October 27, 2008 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Long Term Care. He was born in Empire, MI on January 23, 1916 the son of Michael J. and Helen E. LaVance Karns. Francis was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church of Greenville and had been employed by the Blanding Dairy and had retired from Dons Trading Post. He married Bessie M. Ferris in Traverse City on September 18, 1937. She survives along with their daughters Janice and Jay Lowery of California and Alice Cesar of Greenville, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Diane Karns of Greenville and sister-in-law Alice Eckholm of Greenville. He was preceded in death by his daughter Helen OConnor, son Patrick Karns, grandson John OConnor and his siblings.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial funeral service will be held on Thursday October 30, 2008 at 11 AM from St. Paul Episcopal Church with Rev. Father John Kirkman as officiant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Paul Episcopal Church
