Charles Laurier Deir, 93, of Silsbee passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
A native of Ogden, Utah and a longtime resident of Silsbee, Charles was a tile contractor and owner of Deir's Drive In and Motel. He proudly served his country during WWII in the 188th Parachute Infantry, 11th Airborne Division of the US Army Air Corps.
Mr. Deir was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Deir; his parents Charles and Katherine Senical Deir and brother Johnny Deir.
Survivors include his adopted daughter, Nettie Patel and husband Naresh Nick Patel of Silsbee; brother Lloyd Deir of Holland, VA; sisters-in-law Mittie Richardson, Gladys Cunningham and Minnie Lee Hollyfield, all of Silsbee and Alta Gilmore and husband Leston of Brenham; brother-in-law Myrl Hollyfield and wife Sally of Silsbee and numerous nieces and nephews.
