Joel Scott SchoolingFuneral services for Joel Scott Schooling, 19, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 10, 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Moulder Memorial Gardens in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Schooling died November 7, 2008 in Jasper.

A native of Houston, Joel was a longtime Silsbee resident. He was a student at Panola College in Carthage.

Survivors include mother Cindy Schooling of Silsbee; father David Schooling of Houston; brother Lief Goldsmith of Austin; sister Meagan Goldsmith of Silsbee; grandparents Charles and Marilyn Olsen of Silsbee; aunt and uncles Larry and Pam Perkl of Houston and Ted and Karin Olsen of Spring; aunts Nancy Fairley of Missouri City, Texas and MaryJim Romeo of Houston; cousins Claire, Max and Jake Olsen and numerous other family members and friends.

My name is bryce ayoso and I was a missionary that served in silsbee. i love him and i loved getting to know him. he was a great guy that others looked up to. i know he is taken care of. i pray for his family. God bless. thanks for raising a great son.

i did not know your son but my daughter attended panola college with him. i know he was a good friend to her and she will miss him. im so sorry for your loss and hope you find some comfort knowing he will be remembered fondly by his friends.

Joel was an exceptional young man and a good friend to my son, Brandon. They even shared a room at Panola for a few months. Joel was always polite and respectful and exuded confidence and maturity beyond his years. He will be missed dearly and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I taught Joel when he was in high school. He was always a very sweet and hard-working student, and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
