Robert Robinson age 80 of Greenville passed away Sunday November 23, 2008 at Metron of Belding. He was born in Gratiot County near Alma MI on June 5, 1928 the son of Robert C. and Mary A. Rowland Robinson and was raised by his aunt and uncle Julia and Harold Jensen. They have preceded him in death. He was a career US Army veteran serving as a Chief Warrant Officer with the National Security Agency. His tours of duty began in 1948 and his reentry during the Korean War and again into a career duty with two tours in Viet Nam earning many honors and recognitions including a Bronze Star with 2 oak leaf clusters. He married Marilyn J. Aldrich on January 3, 1953 in Sand Lake, Michigan and they lived a military life and career in many locations in the USA and the world.
She survives along with their sons, Tim (Brenda Rigdon) Robinson of Ypsilanti and Rix Robinson of Greenville, grandchildren; Evelyn, Cody, Caitlin, Bill and Brad, his brother, R.E. Robinson of Lowell, his brothers-in-law Bill Aldrich of Grand Rapids and Jack (Florene) Aldrich of Yuma, Arizona and nieces and nephews.
His wishes for cremation have been followed and his family will have a private ceremony with burial in Trufant Cemetery at a later date.
