Alice Marie Lockwood Jorgensen, 83 of Lakeview went to be with the Lord in her heavenly home at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids on Wednesday December 10, 2008.
Alice was born on December 7, 1925 to George and Myrtle Hayes Lockwood in Detroit.
On November 11, 1943 she married the love of her life, Elverne Jorgensen at her parents home in Entrican. She lived a full life, always thinking of others rather than herself. She has met many health challenges victoriously.
She is survived by her husband Elverne, daughters, Deanna and Don Sweet of Lakeview and Joanne and Bill Noah of Coral, her grandchildren; Dawn and Joel Bartell, Jorgen and Elizabeth Noah, Dennis and Dawn Sweet, and Jennifer Hodges, great grandchildren, Samantha, Caitlyn and Zachary Bartell, Cailin, Liam and Jillian Noah, Donovan Sweet, Amanda, Brandon, Anna and Allan Hodges. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brothers Orville and Preston.
A Celebration Service will be held on Saturday December 13,2008 at 1 PM from Faith Baptist Church with Pastors Don Denyes and Robert Winter officiating. Burial will be in the Spring at West Pine Cemetery, Coral. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Baptist Church or Right to Life.
