Funeral services for Lloyd 'Blackie' Elmore Swinney, 94, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Swinney died December 13, 2008 at his residence in Silsbee.
A native of Johnson Island, Louisiana, 'Blackie' was a longtime resident of Silsbee. He was a retired truck driver with ARCO after 41 years. He was a full time rancher.
Survivors include wife Mary Ellen Swinney of Silsbee; daughters Joyce Faye Lea of Vidor, Linda Ray Whitfill, Reba Nadine Callaway and Ellen Maudine Eason all of Silsbee; sons Bryan Lloyd Swinney of Houston and Phillip Hooks of Spurger; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Swinney's grandsons.
