Mrs. McNeely retired as Vice-President of Silsbee State Bank after 35 years of service where she started out as a bookkeeper. She was an active member of the Church Of Christ in Silsbee where she was a Sunday school teacher. An avid gardener and camper, Doris loved world traveling and had traveled to Germany, Spain, England and other countries. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her and especially by all her "girls" who worked for her at the bank where she was sometimes referred to as "Nanny".

C. of Dallas; son-in-law Bo Tarver of Silsbee; grandchildren Melissa Tarver and Angela Tarver, both of Silsbee and great grandchildren Alex, Shelby, Seth and Dillon.

I'm so sorry that I couldn't make the funeral. I was up in Oklahoma at the time and had no way to get to the funeral, by the time I heard. I also missed Grady's funeral, and again, I'm sooooo sorry.

Doris was my supervisor when I began my career in banking in the bookkeeping department. She was a wonderful person, supervisor, mom, grandmom, and "nanny" to all her girls. She was loved by all who had the privilege of working with her. You will be sincerely missed, Doris! Love, Sandra

I started out in bookkeeping at Silsbee State Bank in 1980 and Doris was my supervisor. The bookkeeping department was the starting point for a banking career. I worked for her a couple of years before transferring to a different department. I can say that I learned alot about banking and also alot about life from Doris. She was always easy to talk to and alot of us affectionately called her "Nanny" because, in a way, she was like a mother or grandmother to us. She kept us in line and helped us when we moved on to bigger and better things. I haven't worked for or with Doris in many years, but I still feel like she's my "Nanny" and I will miss her just the same as a family member. I'm sure she's up there taking care of business and knocking on the glass of her office telling her girls to quit giggling and get busy! Love you Doris! Tab

Patty, I can not even count the times your Mom would greet me with a smile at the door of Silsbee State Bank all those years ago. Doris was the epitome of great customer service to all of those who came in contact with her. If you were customer when you entered the bank, you were her friend when you left. She will be dearly missed.

I remember Mrs. McNeely when I worked at Silsbee State Bank. She worked in the Bookkeeping Department and she was my boss. She was a sweet lady and she will be greatly missed. My prayers are with you all.
