Betty and Judy, We were deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I personally, have wondeful memories of Jim growing up, living next door, and riding his bike around the neighborhood. My husband often noted that Jim was his favorite barber. Not just because of his wonderful haircuts, but also because he had a great personality. I know he will greatly missed. We are extremely distressed that we cannot attend the funeral or the visitation. (Our youngest grandchild is being baptized tomorrow in the Detroit area and we must travel there). Please accept our condolences with sadness and know that our prayers are with you and your family. Ron and Mary Brimmer (Ritter) P.S. Because of my father's disablilty, he is unable to attend the visitation or funeral. He was extremely upset about Jim, and sends his sympathy. He wanted me to tell you this.

I am so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. My heart breaks for all of you and for myself. Jim was so special to me over the past 8 years or so that I knew him. He could play a mean hand of Rummy, but I managed to beat him a few times. I will miss his cooking the most. He sure new how to catch fish, but he fried them up even better! What a pleasure and gift it was to know him.

Mark & Kim, Everyone knows your dad will be missed very much and more so for the both of you. You guys know my wife could cut my hair but I still went in to have Jim do it as I have for the past 25 years. It wasn't about the haircuts, it was the conversations we shared on the setting up the next fishing outing that always brought me back. You can give someone a fish and they will eat for a day but if you teach someone HOW to fish they will eat for a lifetime. I caught many of fish with your dad when we went fishing and we can all say we still have the fond memories of those great times. Sorry for your loss, Evan.

Jim has been cutting my hair since his days in Stanton. For the last 13 years I've been driving from Edmore. Jim didn't cut my hair because he was a great barber, but because I enjoyed his friendship and the many conversations we shared about hunting and fishing or the Detroit sports teams. I especially enjoyed his stories about the things he loved, whether it was steelhead, walleye, or bluegill fishing, or bear, deer or rabbit hunting. He will be sadly missed.

I am sorry for your loss. Jim used to cut my hair when he had his shop here in Stanton next to what was at that time the "Danish Kitchen" and I used to take him lunch to him quite often when he ordered. We shared alot of laughs. Thinking of you.
