Funeral services for Thomas Archer 'Tom' Knighten, 82, of Silsbee, will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday January 17, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment to follow at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Knighten died January 15, 2009 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A native and lifelong resident of Silsbee, Tom was retired U.S. Navy veteran proudly serving his country during WWII. After active duty, he became a member of The Fleet Reserve until 1965. Mr. Knighten was a previous manager of the Chamber of Commerce and was a minister.
Survivors include wife Marcia Lee Keeney Knighten of Silsbee; son Kenneth Lee Crabb and wife Barbara of Charleston, SC; daughters Rebecca Ann Knighten of Cleveland, Sherrie Jo Munson of Laural, MO and Debra L. Harper and husband Robert of Dallas and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews Thomas B.Knighten, Jerry Dean McGallion, Joseph Clay and Howard Etue, Jr., Bill G. Milner and Robert Rey V.
