Funeral services for Jewel Lorine Collins Bruce, 89, of Evadale will be 3:00 pm Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Central Baptist Church in Evadale with interment following in Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
Mrs. Bruce died January 15, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Hemphill, Jewel was a lifelong resident of Evadale. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Mrs. Bruce was preceded in death by her husband Ben Bruce and son Ben Bruce Jr.
Survivors include daughters Anneva Whitmire of Evadale, Abrenda Gene Murphy of Evadale and Sandra Gonzales of Jewett; sons Mike Bruce of Evadale, Glen Bruce of Evadale and Steve Bruce of Hamilton; sister Vivian White of Lumberton and Helen Whitehead of Buna; brothers Norman Collins and Marvin Collins, both of Evadale; twenty one grandchildren; forty two great grandchildren and twenty seven great, great grandchildren.
