My brother sent me the notice of your mom's passing & I know it's been YEARS since the days of Sheridan Elementary & Jr High, but I wanted to express my sympathy to you & your family. We have very fond memories of Marilyn. We remember when we had our "new" house in Fenwick and all of you came to visit us. Again, some 30 years down the path, we were excited when you visited us in the northwoods. Marilyn was kind and friendly. We will miss her.

Marilyn Jean Hancock age 75 of Sheridan died suddenly Tuesday February 3, 2009 at Central Michigan Hospital Mt. Pleasant. She was born in Ionia County on June 2 1933 the daughter of Frederick and Corine Dolan Jensen. She is a graduate of Sheridan High School with the class of 1952 and married Thomas E. Hancock in Stanton on September 21, 1957. Marilyn was the village of Sheridan clerk for the past 33 years and had worked as manager of the D.L. Petersen Insurance office for 25 years, previously employed at Gibsons in Greenville and the Mitchell Bentley Co in Ionia and the Carnation Co. in Sheridan. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother always putting her family ahead of herself, giving her time to be the biggest sports fan to husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, going to shows and her flowers. She was a kind, caring, giving and thoughtful person always there for everyone and will be lovingly missed by her family and many friends and neighbors and the village of Sheridan.
