Jo Ellen Pickering Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1937 - 2009 Funeral services for Jo Ellen Pickering, 71, of Lumberton will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 9, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment to follow at Davis Cemetery in Beaulah Springs. Mrs. Pickering died February 7, 2009 at her residence in Lumberton. A native of Beaumont, Jo Ellen was a longtime Lumberton resident. She was a retired payroll clerk with Lumberton ISD where she worked for 18 years. She is preceded in death by her parents John D and Nannie Bell Trahan and grandson Steve Justice, Jr. Survivors include husband Henry Pickering of Lumberton; children Nancy Justice and husband Steve of Lumberton, John Pickering and wife Cheryl of Gravette, AR, Gene Pickering and wife Kelli, Ellen Burge and Margaret Williams and husband Kevin all of Lumberton; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

I am so sorry for your loss! Almost every memory I have of Lumberton Middle School has Jo Ellen in it!! We did have some fun times going in and out of her's and my mom's offices!!

Jo Ellen was an exceptional lady. I have very fond childhood memories of family gatherings with all of the Pickering family. She will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was Mrs. Pickering's office aide back when I was in junior high. We spend so much time working together. She was a great person and my family enjoyed knowing her. You have a great family and I know you will be there for each other!

I am so sorry for your loss. She was like a mother to me, especially after my mother passed. Even though she will be missed, she has been called by god to heaven. My Prayers are with your family as you go through this difficult time.
