Louise Fox Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1915 - 2009

Louise Fox(Inger) Louise Fox passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease. Louise was born June 28, 1915 in rural Edmore, the daughter of Jens Peter and Betty Marie (Nielsen) Petersen. Louise was a 1931 graduate of Edmore High School. On October 11, 1941, she married Ronald Fox of Greenville. He preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harvey Petersen, Edwin Petersen, and Wesley Petersen; her sister, Esther Petersen; and her son-in-law, James Butch Warren. She is survived by her daughters and their families, Helen Warren of Dexter and her children, David (Caprice) Warren and Erik, Shae, and Ethan of Ann Arbor, Scott (Deana) Warren of Northville, Kevin (Shannon) Warren and Cole of Dexter; Linda (Larry) Seger of Middleville and their children, Erin (Matt) Schaefer and Ellery and Jack of Cadillac, Brian Seger of Grand Rapids; Deborah (Don) Justine of Prairie Home, MO and their children, Jonathan (Jennie) Justine and Judah, Levi, Liam, and Caeden of Lakeside, MT, Peter (Josanna) Justine and Briona, Lyric, and Jasper of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Cherie (Sgt. Adam) Miracle and Gabrielle and William of Fort Drum, NY; and many special nieces and nephews. Mom will always be remembered for her ready smile and open heart&she could usually be found in the kitchen, lovingly preparing a meal for Dad, or any number of family and friends who enjoyed stopping by her and Dads safe, loving home. Her pantry was always well-stocked with home-canned goods that she worked all summer to put up. Mom worked harder than any woman we ever knew, and she set a wonderful example for us three girls. She was a woman of integrity, and anyone who was blessed to know her knew she could be taken at her word. She was quick to laugh, but also easily hurt, with a tender heart. She was also an impeccable seamstress, her fingers flying as she created beautiful gifts for her family. She would patiently share her knowledge with her girls, as much as they were willing to learn. Throughout her long life, she made many, many friends, and all who knew her for just five minutes loved her. She will always stand tall among women for her generosity, honesty, and her unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and for our Dad, Ron. And best of all, God Himself knows that He is deeply loved by one of His best creations, Louise Fox. How blessed we are to have called her Mom. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Greenville. Rev. Betsey Kamphuis will serve as officiant. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Hurst Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Louises honor may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Hospice of Michigan.

Linda, Deb, and Helen....to know your Mom in my youth, and your father...was such a wonderful blessing. These people were the real salt of the earth. They will be cherrished in the hearts of many. Know that so many of us are out here feeling this loss, but also a measure of sweetness, knowing they are with our God in heaven.

Linda, Deb, and Helen....I share your sadness right now. Your mom was another "mom" to me, and I loved her dearly. Your home was a comfortable place to visit thanks to your wonderful parents, and I truly felt at home there! They were good friends to my parents and they shared a lot of good times and great conversations about their girls, which they were all very proud of! How very luck we all were/are! I know that you are dealing with heavy hearts right now, but also know that you know she/they are in a safe and great place. I am with you in thought. Much love to all of you. Carol

Dear Warren Family, I was very saddened to hear of the loss of "Grandma Fox", which is how I came to know her over the many, many years that I have been fortunate enough to be friends with Helen and her family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Repectfully, Tim

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the passing of your mom. She had a long, busy and wonderful life. Until I read the obituary I had forgotten that she was Ed Petersen's sister. I'm still sharing the musical talents he taught me with the Greenville Middle School Choir. Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and your family. Sincerely, Carol
