Leonard Headley age 74 of Langston passed away peacefully at his home early Sunday March 22, 2009.He was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on January 20, 1935 the son of Leo and Alberta Colegrove Headley. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany. On November 12, 1960 in Chicago Illinois he married Barbara J. Moore. Leonard was retired from Sub service Construction of Comstock Park. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the out of doors, but his love for family and friends came first. He would sacrifice his time and talents to help anyone and his unforgettable smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Langston, his children, Barbara Ann and Jeffrey Whilhite of Punta Gorda Florida and Leonard E. Headley Jr. of Langston, 5 grand children and 7 great grandchildren, his sisters and brothers, Arlene and Cecil Riley of Greenville, Mary and Claude Van Zandt of Trufant, Jean Chrisman and special friend Dennie of Greenville , Jerry Headley of Greenville and Donald Headley of St. Louis MI, his wifes family, Josephine Sensi of Wheeling IL, Thomas Moore and James Moore of Illinois and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2009 at 2 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Bush of Langston Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Langston. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan.
