As Terry Harrimon suggested, our early years in Sheridan were special. I picture Jon in the green Cubs uniform throwing left handed against my Rams team. In high school our opponents were happy to see Jon with his slow curve balls after seeing Jeff Gerlach's fastballs, but they couldn't hit either of them. Jon always had a kind word, was always a supportive type person. I regret that I lost contact with him since high school. I mourn his loss and the loss of his father, Kline in 1991.

Daniel, we were very shocked to hear of your fathers untimely passing. We used to have great times together. We hadn't seen much of him these past few years but thought of him often. He will be greatly missed.

It seems like yesterday that we were having fun at Sheridan Elementary. We played sports together, we laughed our way through Central Montcalm and then moved on in our careers. I will miss the stories that Jon could always remember. He left us way to early.

Jon Kline Decker age 59 of Wyoming MI died Sunday April 5, 2009 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born in Lakeview MI on March 26, 1950 the son of Kline G. and Marjorie Jensen Decker. He was a graduate of Central Montcalm High School and a veteran of the US Army and served with the Michigan National Guard 1073rd in Greenville. He formerly worked for the US Postal Service and currently was working for Pak Mail in Grandville. His father preceded him in death on December 20, 1991.
