Clarence D. Lake age 86 of Greenville died Wednesday April 8, 2009 at Laurels of Carson City. He was born in Belding on May 16, 1922 the son of Rance and Eunice Walters Lake. Clarence retired from White Consolidated Industries and was formerly a mechanic for Breimeyer and Bud Jonas in Belding. He was a veteran of the US Army in WW II European Theater and was a member of the American Legion Post # 203 in Belding.
His twin daughters preceded him in death, Carolyn Donovan on Dec 12,1990 and Marilyn Chickering on December 20, 2008. His granddaughter Kathy Dollar and his special friend Betty McClear also preceded him in death and also his sisters Margaret Knapp and Minnie McCabe, his brothers William and Ralph Lake and his son-in-law Jim Donovan.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel and Eva Mae Lake of Belding, Thomas Lake of Delton and Steven Lake of Belding, 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, his sister Ann Ring of Ionia and sister-in-law Norma Lake of Belding and son-in-law Tom Chickering of Rockford.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday April 18, 2009 at 1:30 PM at Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Harger officiating with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post # 203 of Belding. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens Belding.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Laurels of Carson City or American Legion Post # 203 of Belding.
