Roby Lee Jones, 60, of Evadale, TX went to his heavenly home Thursday, April 9, 2009 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Roby was born March 1, 1949 in Silsbee, TX to Jessie Leroy and Helen Day Jones of Evadale, who preceded him in death.
Roby was a loving devoted husband and father. He married his beloved wife Patricia Erbelding Jones of Johnson Bayou, LA. They were blessed with two loving sons, Justin and Lance, who are the pride and joy of their lives.
Roby was an accomplished barber for many years. His hobby of wood carving brought him many hours of pleasure as he created figures from raw wood. He enjoyed wood finishing and owned and operated R. J. Furniture.
He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Roby shared many happy times with his family and friends at Rack and Rifle Hunting Club.
Roby loved his faithful companion, Brutus. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Silsbee. His strength and faith in his Lord and Savior , Jesus Christ, were very evident.
Roby was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1366 of Evadale, Masonic Lodge #927 of Silsbee and Masonic Lodge #1095 of Buna. He was a member of the Southeast Texas Chapter of Royal Arch Mason Southeast Texas Council #380 of Royal and Select Masons, and the Southeast Texas Commandery #112 of Knights Templar.
He is survived by his wife Pat Erbelding Jones of Evadale; sons Justin Jones of Houston and Lance Jones of College Station; sister Linda McMillan and husband C. J. of Kirbyville; brothers Bobby Jones and wife Gayle of Beaumont, Jerry Jones and wife Wanda, Jimmy Jones and wife Joyce, David Jones and wife Cheryl, all of Evadale; He is also survived by brothers-in-law Dwight Erbelding and wife Judy of Johnson Bayou, LA and Wally Erbelding and wife Kathy of Sulphur, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, best friend Billy Berrryman and a host of extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, from 6 pm until 9 pm at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Funeral services will be 4:00 Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
