1927 - 2009
Elwin L. Brammer, 82, of Chesapeake, Ohio, left this life for his eternal home Friday April 10, 2009 at St. Marys Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1927 to the late Elmer Francis and Beulah Gossett Brammer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ethel (Cute) Brammer on March 3, 2005; and two sisters, Mrs. Luella Christian and Mrs. Frances Smoot. Elwin leaves behind his daughter Karen Cremeans of Chesapeake and his son Charlie (Brenda) Brammer of Proctorville; two stepsons, Michael Ramey and Tim Ramey both of West Virginia; three sisters, Lenora Riley and Rose (Jack) Christian of South Point, and Shirley Chapman of Cincinnati, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. His special friend and caregiver, Shirley Smith of Sybene. Elwin retired from C.S.X. Railroad after 45 years of service. He was a member of Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F & AM and Proctorville O.E.S. Chapter 257. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 14, 2009 at Union U.B. Church by Pastor Glen Carmon. Burial will follow in Brammer Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held form 6 to 8 p.m. Monday April 13, 2009 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio, with Eastern Star service at 7:30 and Masonic service to follow. It is difficult to get all the news from home, especially since I no longer live in the area. I have fond memories of spending the night with Kasina when we were in school. Elwin and Cute always made my time there enjoyable. I'm sure that he will be missed greatly by all.

I can remember my Grandpa Pauley and Brammer runnin around together when I was a lil girl. I also remember my Aunt Neddy hangin out with Karen when I was real little. My condolences to your family, he was a good man!

Sorry to hear about Uncle Elwin.Anne and Price(my mom&dad)told me about him tonite when we went to visit them.I remember mostly about the Motorcycles and all the trophies when we would visit in the summer.Those were some real good times.
