Lucille  Cory Lucille Cory age 93 of Greenville passed away Wednesday morning April 15, 2009 at her home in Greenville. She was born near Altona in Mecosta County on October 8 1915 the daughter of Guy and Ona Tompkins Stine. She was married on October 8 1946 to Hugh Cory. She was a graduate of Lakeview High School in 1933 and had worked in the food service at Greenville Public Schools. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Langston Church and was a girl scout leader. She loved her cake decorating especially for weddings and graduations. She enjoyed her knitting and her flowers and also going to deer camp.

Her husband Hugh Cory preceded her in death November 2, 1984 and also her son Jerry Cory, brothers, Cecil, Gerald, and Daniel Stine, sisters Ada Allen, Elizabeth Hopkins, Arlene Burt, Martha London Calhoun and Marjorie Stine.

She is survived by her children; Robert and Charlotte Kruger of Lakeview, Mildred Kruger of Ft. Collins CO, Karen and Hartley Byers of Walker, Delbert and Sally Cory of Dimondale and Gayla and Craig Schachtele of Stanton, 17 grandchildren, 25 great and 3 great great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, Tyrus and Laurene Stine of Vermontville, Grethel and Walter Bearman of Eaton Rapids, Carl and Mary Stine of Sand Lake and Robert Jack Stine of Greenville, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Marilyn Cory of Belding and Burma and Dick Castle of Conn. and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday 10 AM April 18 2009 from Hurst Funeral home with her pastor Tom Bush officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens Belding. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Langston Church or Spectrum Hospice.

Karen, Del & Gayla So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom what a truly great lady she was. I think back to all the fun that our folks had togther. Back in the days when Del was playing basketball oh how our mothers loved to go to the games there were no greater fans.
