1945 - 2009

Harriet Yvonne LissHarriet Y. (Sandy) Liss, 63 died early Thursday afternoon April 16, 2009, at her home sitting at her computer desk, she now rests in peace with our Lord. Paul said, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!

Sandy was born in Mamaws home in Silsbee December 15, 1945 to Harry and Violet Warrick. She graduated from Little Cyprus High School in Orange, Texas. She spent her life rearing our four daughters in Texas, New Mexico and 30 years in Alaska.

On June 3, 1967, she married the love of her life Charles Liss in her home in Orange, Texas. Together they served in seven churches as spiritual leaders. First and foremost Sandy was dedicated to serving and supporting all four daughters through all of their education and activities.

Sandy greatly enjoyed the mountains of Colorado and Alaska. Sandy greatly admired and enjoyed the bountiful wonders of nature in Alaska.

Sandys presense in this life will be missed deeply by friends and family alike! She set a sweet Christian example for each of her four daughters to follow. Each one has commented over the years, Mom is my best friend!

Her greatest joy was her family. Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Charles, her daughter Jody and son-in-law Greg Stafford, her daughter Shanda and son-in-law Kenny Martin, her daughter Lori and son-in-law Bradley Bray, and her daughter Sallie Liss; her grandchildren Luke Stafford, Ty, Hunter, Christopher Martin, Lora Leigh and Charlie Bray; Her Mom Violet Morse and husband Arivel Morse, Sister Loraine and husband Jack Greubel, Aunt Mildred Graff, Aunt Donnie Blanton, Aunt Mary Haynes, Uncle George Read, Uncle Tommy Read, Aunt Mary Morris, niece Dana Manners, nephew Todd Stokes and cousin Connie Isabell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Liss will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday. Interment to follow at Knupple Cemetery

My deepest sympathy for your loss. But being spring time it is understood that God needed a beautiful rose from His garden and He chose a winner. I know Mrs. Liss had to be a great lady because she raised another great lady in her daughter Jody. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
