Funeral services for Elisha Taylor Butler, 82, of Spurger will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 20, 2009 at Fred Pentecostal Church under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Fred Community Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm Sunday at the church.

Mr. Butler died April 17, 2009 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.

A native of Roanoke, Virginia Elisha had been a resident of Spurger for the past twenty years. He was a retired furniture worker.

Survivors include his wife Margie Butler of Spurger; son Taylor Ray Butler of Cumming, Georgia; stepsons Wayne Harrison and Tony Curtis Hooks both of Lenoir, North Carolina and Steve Hooks of Spurger; stepdaughter Gale Hooks of Spurger; sister Betty Sue Butler of Conover, North Carolina and grandchildren Christie Butler, Stephen Butler, Gale West, J. R. Harrison, Gary Harrison, Crystal Harrison, Chrislynn Harrison, Curtis Hooks, Chad Hooks, Richard Byrd, Cindy Byrd, Dennis Byrd, Tony Hooks, Stephanie Hooks, Austin Ross and Colby Ross.

Margie, I'm truly sorry to hear dad passed away. I wished I could of been there with you. He will be so missed. I thought of dad alot and missed him dearly between all the miles. When I think of dad the first thing I think of is "Thats my boy" He was truly a wonderful and the sweetest man I have ever meant. Love, Connie
