Iles Harry Tipton
Funeral services for Iles Harry Tipton, 86, of Hemphill will be 10:00 am Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Tipton died April 26, 2009 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill.
A native of Beaumont, Mr. Tipton has been a resident of Ingleside, Llano, Kempter and Fred before settling in Hemphill.
Mr. Tipton was a WWII veteran serving his country in the US Army in Italy. He retired from Atlantic Richfield after 21 years when he was called to the ministry. He was a member of the VFW, did mission work in Mexico and was also a member of Campers on Mission. He was a branch manager for Hochheim Insurance and drove a school bus. Mr. Tipton loved to hunt, fish and garden. He loved the Lord and he loved to sing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Geneva Dugger Tipton of Hemphill; son Jerry Tipton and wife Lou of Rockport; brother Millard Tipton of Votaw; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; numerous great, great grandchildren; twelve nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews.
