Bridgette was like a sister to me. We were like two pea's in a pod! In high school we were inseperable. Bridgette and her family have helped me become the person I am today, they even invited me to live in their home for over a year. This only brought us all closer together. One of my favorite memories is when Bridgette and I were dancing in the car on the way home from visiting her brother in Elizabeth City, NC. We made a dance to the song "Allstar" by Smashmouth. Everytime I hear that song, I remember our dance and Bridgette. It will forever bring a smile to my face. I am sorry I am unable to attend, but my heart is with all of you. I love you.

You do not know us but we wanted to let you know that we were on Mackinac Island on Sunday, May 24th and happen to go to the Pancake House for breakfast, Bridgette just happened to be our waitress. She was in very good spirits and was kidding around with all of us. She seemed that she didn't have a care in the world. She happened to ask if we were from the Grand Rapids area and that we seemed familiar to her.
We live in Wyoming and our son and family (who were with us) live in Caledonia. We feel very fortunate to have known her for that short time. We sincerely hope this is of some consolation to you. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I am thinking of you and praying for you as you deal with your loss. I guess the things I remember most about Bridgette are from when she was little. Looking very sweet in her St. Charles uniform, and babysitting for a summer. I remember the year she asked Santa to leave proof that he was real, so he left a chocolate "mitten" print, but the dog ate it. I loved the way she said "in the morning", it was "inside the morning". I have so many more memories that I will cherish forever. She was a brillant child, who grew into a brillant woman. She will be missed by all who knew her. I feel privledged to have known her. Bridgette Collen Powers age 25 of Greenville died Thursday May 28 2009 at Mackinac Island Michigan. She was born in Greenville on January 20 1984 the daughter of Dennis and Lory Thomas Powers. She was a graduate of St. Charles Catholic School and Greenville High School in 2002. She enjoyed life with many activities including snowboarding and working at Snowshoe Mountain and with water sports and athletics with track and basketball. She attended Detroit Institute of Arts and was trained in glass blowing.
