1944 - 2009
John F. DeBoard Sr., 65, better known as "JD", of Chesapeake, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2009. He was born in Matewan, WV, son of the late Hazel Marie and John Henry DeBoard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Ed, Donald Ray, and Roger DeBoard. John leaves behind a wife, Ann DeBoard; two sons, Johnnie Jr. and Tina DeBoard and Mikie and Anna DeBoard all from Chesapeake; one granddaughter Courtney DeBoard and one grandson Tyler DeBoard; three sisters, Ruby Church, Brenda Stevens, and Susan Harris; one brother James DeBoard; and three special friends, Frank Smith, Vernon Jackson, and Ancil Lambert. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday June 13, 2009 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio, and the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 14, 2009 at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Mrs. DeBoard,
Words cannot express I sorry I am for the loss of your husband. I will miss talking with you and your family. I hope you take comfort in knowing the he is in a much better place without all the pain and suffering. Plus he doesn't have me coming in there sticking him all the time. I will continue to pray for you and your family.

Is the John F. DeBoard that was in 3 newspapers. I did not see his mom(Hazel), His dad (John) or his brother (James) or his sisters (Brenda, Sue, Ruby listed anywhere in the newspaper. I am sure there were many wondering besides me.

This was my dad a man that loved his family and friends but most importantly loved Jesus Christ. Dad will be missed by many people, but on June 11, 2009 I didnt only lose my dad but I also lost my best friend a person I looked up to could go to too talk with and help me with any problem I had no matter how big or small. I am deeply saddened and he will be missed.
The loss of a dear freind to me and others, he touched so many peoples lives, including my own. He had a huge inpact on my life and had a hand in shaping the person I am today.
He was my mentor, and dear friend.
No one could ask for a better person to know in this life.
