Brad Stangeland Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1950 - 2009

After a long, valiant battle with cancer, Brad Stangeland, 58, left this world in the loving arms of his wife, Joyce, on June 19, 2009. Born in Dawson, Minnesota, on December 24, 1950, Brad was the son of the late Jerome and Arlene Stangeland. Brad worked as a Journeyman Electrician for Pritchard Electric. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, four brothers, Larry, Bobby, Michael, and Charles, and a sister, Susie. He also leaves 4 stepsons who he loved as his own: Robert (Kathy) Bowsher, Michael (Mary) Bowsher, Donald (Diane) Bowsher, and Stephen (Jamie) Bowsher, along with their children: Abby Bowsher, John Paul Curtis, Ryan and Logan Wills, and Jared Contraguerro. Brad leaves a host of close friends who gathered with him in his last days. A special thanks to a dear family friend, Molly Schaffnit, whose love and compassion will long be remembered, and to Holzier Hospice for their care and commitment. As per Brad's wishes, his earthly body will be cremated. His wife and loved ones invite those who knew Brad to a brief memorial to celebrate his life and newfound peace on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 5-7 pm at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be sent to www.Timeformemory.com/Hall.

Joyce, I don't believe we ever met but Bradley was my very first friend when my family moved to Dawson from Denver. We grew up together and after high school we moved to Minneapolis and worked and lived together. I was saddened to hear the news, Brad was always a great person and will be missed by those who knew him. Sorry to hear of your loss.

I was shocked at the news of Brad's death. He had worked for me when we were both at James Electric while doing the Lakin Prison job. I took to Brad quick. He was a fireball of a worker and always in good spirits. When Dink James passed away, the local hands were saddened but most of all we were concerned with what would come of Brad because he'd been with Dink so long and we wanted to be sure that someone got ahold of him. He didn't need our campaigning and probably never knew how many of his brothers were looking out for him. My heart goes out to you and your family. I know he will be missed.

Joyce, I am stunned and saddened by the news. We didn't realize Brad was fighting illness. Mark and I want to send you our love. Brad was a good man whom I respected. I know because of who you are, that you will be Ok, but I'm so sorry for the pain. We will be leaving town Monday as my mother is very ill, we would be at the memorial otherwise. I love you and will send prayers and light.
