Mary Dena Fields

May 8, 1947 - July 6, 2009

On May 8, 1947 in Logan County, West Virginia Rufas and Mary Trottie Thompson welcomed the arrival of a daughter Mary. At a young age Mary moved with her family to Huntington, West Virginia where she attended Barnett Elementary School and later graduated from Douglas High School. Always wanting to learn more she enrolled in the Junior College of Business. Dena as she was known by friends and loved ones was employed by Owens-Illinois until the plant closed, at which time she became a home maker giving all of her time to her family whom she dearly loved. Anyone who knew Dena, could say that they truly had a friend. Anytime that you show her, you were always greeted with a smile.

On Monday, July 6, 2009 Dena quietly in her sleep departed this life to join her parents, friends and loved ones who had preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Charles Tony Fields, four sons: Phillip Thompson, Derrick Fields, DeAaron Fields and Joseph Fields all of Huntington, two grand children: Brandon (Lela) Thompson, and Shyra Thompson both of Huntington, one great grand child: Briella Thompson, an aunt Dorothy Howard of St. Louis, Mo, an uncle Ray Garrett, Huntington, WV and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of her life will be 11:00AM Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Full Gospel Assembly 2101 Tenth Avenue with Bishop samuel Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00PM Friday, July 10, 2009 at Callender Funeral Home, 1695 Ninth Avenue, Huntington, West Virginia
