BURDEN- Mr. Gale Kenneth Burden, 71, longtime Lakeview resident, died Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Kelsey Campus Long Term Care. He was born February 20, 1938 in Remus, the son of Edward and Anna (Stine) Burden. On July 20, 1957, he married the former Kaye Card in Lakeview. Gale loved his cats and dogs, and loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kaye, of Lakeview; his children, Karen (Kevin) Ruthruff of Lakeview, Tim Burden of Lakeview, and Jody (Kim) Burden of Greenville; his much-loved grandchildren, Reece, Ryan, and Ethan Burden; his mother, Anna Burden of Big Rapids; his brothers, Jack (Joan) Burden of Weidman and Harold Burden of Newaygo; his sister, Shirley Walch) of Big Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Gale's life will be held Sunday, August 30 at 1:00 PM at the Lakeview Community Center with Pastor James Massengill of the Six Lakes Bible Missionary Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice or to Kelsey Hospital Long Term Care.
