Martha Lucille Stewart, 84, of DeGraff, died at 1:35 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in South Charleston on Dec. 30, 1924, a daughter of the late Fred E. and Martha C. Queen Garvey.
On July 29, 1954, she married George F. Notestine in Kennard and he preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1973. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Hawk; stepson, Charles Notestine; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Fred Garvey, John Garvey, George Garvey and James Garvey; two sisters, Mary Alice Thomas and Genieva Follrod; and two stepbrothers, Charlie Martindill and Ralph Martindill.
Survivors include sons, George Notestine of Bellefontaine and Jim (LaVonne) Notestine of Quincy; daughters, Sharelle (Gene)Hall of Circleville, Ellen (John) Fuller of Fairborn, Shirley (Martino) Mifsud and Carol (David) Campbell, both of Bellefontaine, Lori (Jim) Ellis of Huntsville and Jody (John) Watkins of South Carolina; stepdaughter, Barbara (George) Elliott of Naples, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She worked as a telephone operator for United Telephone, attended the DeGraff United Methodist Church and was an avid supporter of the Humane Society Serving Logan County.
Pastor Larry Brown officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Monday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is one hour prior. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
