Dear Donna and Family, I just heard of Cliff's death and I am so sorry I did not know before today. I just saw Cliff a few weeks ago and had the opportunity to talk to him and catch up. Cliff is someone who I will always remenber for his smile, his love of life, the Lord, his family and the way he loved his kids on his bus. There will never be another Cliff. He will always be one of the most special people I have known and it was a priviledge to know and work with Cliff. I was so touched when he took the time to come to my daughter Sarah's service. That was Cliff, always thinking of others. There are no words at this time that can express the sorrow in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Diana Jarrell

Dear Sis. Beckett and family, I was so shocked when I heard the news about the loss of Bro. Clifton Beckett. He was a gentle giant. I will never forget the security that I felt when I shook his hand in church. His faith in God was easily seen and his character was of the highest caliber that I have ever encountered. He was a precious child of God. I will miss him. Please know that you and your family will be in my prayers in the days to come. Keep his precious spirit alive by his wonderful memory.

Clifton--I loved you the first time I saw you, only a few hours old. I loved the man of God you became. In Philippians 2:4 it says, "do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." You did. To all those who loved him and still do follow his example, he followed Christ's example.

Dear Doroty, Johnnie & Family. I was out of town last week and was looking on line when I saw Clifton's name, it nearly took my breath. There is no word in the English language that I can say to any of you to convey how saddened and sorry I am to hear of this. As you know I knew him mostly when he was youg....and Nora would be chasing him, because she had corrected him and he would just laugh and then say something (not dirty or disrectable) and Nora would say "Clifton!, don't you say ANOTHER WORD!!! he would have a mischevious grin on his face & say it again. "Clifton if you say that one more time I am going to wash your mouth out with soap" Of course you knew what happened, clifton would take off and Nora in hot pursuit. Ruth & I would just shake our heads and laugh. Nora would finally catch him after 2 trips around down stairs.Out of breath she would wrestle him down to the floor. She would put the soap in his mouth and he would smile and say "Hmmm, Thats good" Nora was SO M.A.D. "Can I have some more? He was certainly a character when he was small. I read the many, many condolences and I only wish that I would be remembered for 1/1000 of the good works that Clifton accomplished here on earth. I know besides the family God is very Proud and for some reason has chosen him to receive his reward sooner than what we humans would have wished for. I remember seeing Clifton at Stone & Thomas as Santa Claus years ago. I was busy shopping and he came up, called me by name and asked if I had been a good girl this past year. I had no idea who Santa was. I suppose Nora has exciteddely been gathering up GrandMA, Grandpa and soap just waiting on his arrival. Once again. I want to tell you how so so very sorry I am. From Mother to Mother I will be praying for all of the family, wife and daughters, but especially for you Dorothy the Mother. I wish I could hold you and hug you. I am goping to call Ruth and when you feel like it I would like for the three of us to get together. As painfull as I can only imagine, Clifton has left memories, that we could share and share a smile. Even though I have not seen you all for years, you know the Barnett family was my family to for a while and I have never forgoten you. With Love. Evonna. I am sorry this is so long, but it was what was laid on my heart.

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Cliff. I met Mr. Cliff awhile ago when he used to drive my neighbors church bus. Mr. Cliff was probably one of the nicest people i have ever met he would always stop and say hi and see how i was no matter how busy he was. I remember him taking me and a group of other kids to kings island a few years ago and that will be something i will never forget. Mr. Cliff always had a smile and a nice word to say and he will truly be missed and will always be loved. my thoughts and prayers are with his family. Love You Mr. Cliff thanks for being there

"Some people make the world special just by being in it." This is true of Bro. Cliff!!! When those we love go away, they never really leave us; they are with us now, wherever we are. Those whom we have cherished, live on forever, for love wraps itself around the heart. Although it's difficult now, someday beyond our tears and all the world's wrongs; beyond the clouds and all that we can see and touch, we shall all understand. We are praying for you.... Love and prayers....Don and Janet

On behalf of my sister and I, we want to extend our condolences to your family. Mr. Cliff was our bus driver, and we use to go to church with him. He was a really nice man, I always knew when I got on the bus he would always be there to say hi and give me a smile every morning. He was just so easy to talk to. I wished I would have known about this sooner b/c I would have been to his funeral to pay my respects to him and to his family. Again I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of a great man.

On behalf of our entire family, I would truely like to thank everyone for all the cards, letters and condolences of sympathy. And also to everyone who came Tuesday evening to his Homegoing Celebration. As his sister, and (partner in crime, lol), I knew what a great person and friend he was. He never walked away or hung up the phone without telling me he loved me first. But, we never realized before now, how much he touched the lives of so many others around him. He may be gone from our earthly presence, but for all who have Jesus living in their hearts, we will see him again one day. We love you Cliff, and you will always be close in our hearts and minds.

I didn't know what to say to you when I passed you this evening at the funeral. I just want to let you know how Brother Beckett touched my life. When I was in the 6th grade I was very poor and had a lot of problems. I did not have a father figure in my life. Clifton was at school one day and saw me get into a fight with a boy. He came up to me later and told me that he didn't know what the boy said to me or did to me but that it takes more of a man to walk away than it does to fight and that I should apologize to the boy. I did what he told me I should do. What I'm trying to get at is he stepped in and told me what a boy that age needs to hear. Also I was poor and he would buy me a yearbook every year. I never told him how much that meant to me. Im so sorry for your loss.

Our family is in shock. We just heard this sad news today but remember Cliff as one of the kindest, most generous people ever. When he did the Beverly Hills bus run, I would go down to do afternoon duty in the bus loop. Cliff cared about his students. He bought each one a school yearbook and at Christmas, he got all of them West Coast Chopper hoodie sweatshirts. He was such a loving and giving person. I can't begin to imagine how painful this must be to those who were quite close to Cliff. He had a tremendous impact on the lives of the children around him as well as many adults. Heaven is even better with Cliff joining their team. He'll likely fix dinner for each of us as we make our way through the Pearly Gates!

Know that God is with you and will be there to comfort you during the days and weeks ahead. Praying that God will give you a peace that passes all understanding. We used to live up the street from the Beckett's 20+ years ago. What a homecoming there was yesterday as he departed this world for an amazing celebration in heaven. The biggest birthday celebration of them all...God bless each of you, you are in our thoughts and prayers..

Huntington High School was fortunate to have Cliff as a staff member and bus driver. As a teacher, I found Cliff to be one of the most caring and considerate people I have ever known. Numerous times I witnessed him handing children money when they didn't have enough to buy lunch or a drink from the pop machines. He even purchased yearbooks for students who could not afford them. Cliff impacted the lives of hundreds of young people and truly lived a life of service to all. How blessed we all have been to have known him.

Donna my heart goes out to you and your girls. My heart hurts for you all. I will never forget talking to him at the hospital in the ER, and his first words were nothing about him or what had just happened..he said you tell your babies hi for me. It shows that even in his worst moment he was thinking of someone else. And that is how I will always remember Cliff. A true heart, and a person who seen everyone with love. Everyone was equal to him. The years I went to the same church as Cliff, he always was at the doors greeting everyone with enthusiasm and a big smile. I will never forget him.

To The Family of Mr. Cliff, Our family was devasted upon hearing the news of the homegoing of Mr. Cliff. There are not enough words to express our sympathy for your loss. Our prayers are with you for the days, weeks and months ahead. If I may take the time to reflect on the impact Mr. Cliff had on our family. He was both my son's bus driver at Geneva Kent. As a parent, I was so relieved to know that my children were in such good hands for their transportation from GK to Beverly Hills where there father is employed. Everyday the boys would tell me something kind that Mr. Cliff told them. He always greeted the children with a kind, loving & positive word. He showed the love of our Heavenly Father to those children daily. May God's strength, peace & love be with you. Gary, Becki, Isaac & Isaiah Carpenter

Mr.Cliff was my bus driver throughout middle and high school, he was one of tha best people someone could have in their life. When i heard about him passing my heart just sank i didnt know what to think. I can remember his morning speeches on tha bus because he would always start out by saying, "Now kids you know i love every single one of you all", for the people that didnt know him he was such a wonderful man that would do anything and everything for someone. My prayers go out to his family and everyone that knew him. He will never be forgotten but always will be loved.
