Dorotha L. Pike born September 10,1911 in Springport MI passed away quietly on September 8, 2009.She was the daughter of A.G.Doc Miller and Adah R.Childs Miller and came to Trufant MI in 1925 where her father had his drug store. She graduated from Coral High School in 1929. She married the love of her life Gerald W. Pike on November 14,1931 in South Bend, Indiana. She worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Co for 24 years as chief operator from her home in Trufant and was a member of Settlement Lutheran Church of Gowen. The Pikes moved to Rockford in 1981.
She is survived by her husband Gerald, their children, Allen and Patricia Pike of Belmont and Grace Ann Gobert of Rockford, grandchildren, Stacy (John) Tenbroeke, Christopher (Kim) Pike, Shelley Bass, Melisa Etter, Jenny Coulson, 12 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Dorothy of Jenison and cousin Max(Darlene) Miller of Jackson. An infant son, Richard Dean preceded her in 1938. The Pike family wishes to thank the staff of Metron of Cedar Springs for the care given to Dorotha.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday September 11 from Settlement Lutheran Church, Gowen with Rev. Aaron I. Sorrels officiating and burial in Trufant Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to Settlement Lutheran Church.
