David L. Steenwyk, age 75, of Lowell, went to be with his Heavenly Father Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from his home. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Nicky (Wiebenga) Steenwyk; children, David Steenwyk, Jr., Sherri and Randy Priem, Lois and Scott Baas, Paul and Susan Steenwyk, and Nancy and Rich Carlson; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, James and Karen Steenwyk; and 16 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, October 2 at the First Baptist Church of Lowell, with visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 prior to the service. Pastor David Sims will serve as officiant. Private interment will be in Trufant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church of Lowell.

Dear Nicky and family,
Today is only a reflection of the celebration David received upon his graduation to glory. But we pray for you so much as you learn to walk a different path without him for now. May the Lord's presence be so utterly real.

Dear Paul, Susan and family:

Nicky, so shocked and sorry to hear that Dave has passed. I know you are feeling this loss more than ever right now May the peace and grace of our Lord be with you and the family. Because neither Mom(Helen) nor myself drive at night I am so sorry we cannot be at the memorial service to celebrate Dave's life. We will be with you in spirit.
