1982 - 2009
Christopher Michael Schweda, 27, of Greenville, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009. He was born August 14, 1982 in Sturgis. Christopher loved to volunteer, and received the national Yes I Can award for his work. He also enjoyed working with Disability Awareness. More than anything, He deeply loved the Lord. Christopher was an exceptional human being who will be deeply missed by his parents, Michael and Tami Miller of Greenville; siblings, Brian and Kendra Miller of Belding and Tara and Robert Gale of Greenville; very special nieces and nephews, Nicole, Parker, and Collin; grandparents, Gary and Fran Penn of Sturgis, George and Jill Miller of Florida, and Evelyn Schweda of Jackson; aunts and uncles, Tom and Traci Ware of White Pigeon, Terry and Karen Penn of Sturgis, Ed and Toni Raglind of Tennessee, and Scott and Cindy Miller of Avon, IN; many cousins; and his special teaching assistant and friend, Lorrie Wooster. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Schweda. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 prior to the service. Pastor Wayne Otto will serve as officiant. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville. Memorial contributions in Christopher's honor may be given to the Greenville Public Schools Special Education Department.

Tami,
I found out just today about Christopher. I'm so sorry for your loss. Know that you guys are in my prayers and thoughts.
Side note: I know Wayne Otto and went to school with him. Do you go to Greenville Community? Greenville is in my district that I serve. I live in Merrill, MI which is about 40 minutes away.

Tami, I am deeply sorry to hear of Chris's passing. I really enjoyed meeting him. We always had a good time during our visits as I drove him to his worksites and to and from school on the transit. I remember Chris well from Middle School. He and I would make bets about what hair color Dennis Rodman would choose for that night's game. He was usually right! His smile would brighten my day every time! Chris positively impacted each person he met.

Keep in mind the words of the Lord in Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted" and in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
