1920 - 2009

John Andrew Britzman age 89 of Turk Lake Greenville died Monday October 26, 2009 at Twin Oaks AFC Gowen. He was born in Montcalm Township, Greenville on February 5 1920 the son of Clarence and Kitty Seibert Britzman. He was married to Jean Reynolds in Greenville on June 20, 1942. John was a veteran of the US Army in WWII serving with 239th MP Co. receiving a bronze battle star. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 101 of Greenville and the VFW Cleveland Wolverton Post of Greenville. He retired from Federal Mogul with 33 years of service.

He is survived by his wife Jean and their daughters, Kathy Jean (Lewis Jr.) Kurnat of Grand Rapids and Becky Jo ( Michael) Spatrisano of Portland, grandchildren, Todd Lewis Kurnat, Molly Jo (Andrew) Arntz, Sarah Louise Kurnat, Peter John Kurnat, April Michelle (Tim) Paraschos, Amy Jo ( Jameel )Abdo, Shaun Michael Keusch, Amber Rose Keusch, Kurt Michael Spatrisano and Jaime Lyn Spatrisano and great grandchildren, Morgan, Even, Brady, Samuel, Vance and a great granddaughter soon to be.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Colby Royce Keusch in 2006 and his siblings, Laura Bow, Eleanor Goodwin, Marian Goodell, Wyman and Donald Britzman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 29,2009 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating with military honors by the American Legion Post # 101. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in East Montcalm Cemetery.

My thoughts and prayers,go out to John's family.I worked at Twin Oaks,cooking,and cleaning.I had many laughs with John,especially when he called me Gerrie...for some reason,that name stuck with him.He was a great person: Joanne Withey
