Iva Irene Enbody Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1928 - 2009

Iva Irene EnbodyIva Irene Enbody was born in Greenville February 2, 1928 to Emanuel (Manley) and Lucile Bryde Huckleberry. She married Lawrence (Larry) Enbody on July 16 1941. Their love brought forth 8 sons and a daughter; Larry, Steve (Jody), Pete (Cindy), Jim (Janet), Jon (Linda), Anne (Craig) Hollenbeck, Tim (Joyce), Jerry (April) , 42 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren 14 great great grandchildren, hundreds that called her grandma, her three sisters, Esther (Vic) Nolf, Shirley Scharswak and Artha (Fran) Brock, sister-in-law Jan Huckleberry and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry on September 26 1988, son Tom in 1997, grandsons Steven and Joshua and great grandson Dylan, her brothers, Bob and Richard Huckleberry.

She attended Hillcrest Free Methodist Church until it closed. She had been a Red Cross Volunteer for 40 years, working many blood banks and immunization clinics. Iva would fill her pantry, just to empty it for anyone who had a need. It was on more numerous accounts, that she filled her car at a holiday to bless someone in need.

Until approximately three years ago, she said she took care of old people through Homepanion.

One thing of many memories will be Iva s opinion, which usually would be the opposite of yours. Iva loved her Lord Jesus and it showed through everything she did.

Iva skipped two grades in school, but was not able to graduate until 1980 when she received her diploma with her good friend and neighbor Phyllis Russell.

Iva will be missed but never forgotten because her wisdom and love will live through those who were privileged to know her for generations.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 30, 2009 at 1 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with her daughter and son-in-law officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens Belding. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Greenville Community Church Food Pantry.

Grandma-The-Great, I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new I thought about you yesterday and days before that too, I think of you in silence I often speak your name All I have now are memories and your picture in a frame Your memory is my keepsake with which Ill never part God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart. As Grandma Might Say: Time has taken me from you, Although not very far. I'll be watching through the sunshine And through the brightest star. I'll be watching all of you, From the heavens up above. So take good care of each other And carry all my love.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I know that God will be close in your time of sorrow. I only met your mother briefly, though she seemed a genuinely nice and thoughtful woman. God be with you! Peace, Darlene
