Rev. Jesse Steve BruntyRev. Jesse J. (Steve) Brunty, 82, of Proctorville, Ohio formerly of Yolyn at Rum Creek, WV. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 27, 2009 after a lingering illness. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 16, 1927 in Lincoln County, WV, son of James and Spicy (Adkins) Brunty. Steve was a retired coal miner of 31 years at Amherst Coal Company (District 17). He was a member of Lucinda United Baptist Church. Steve loved the Lord, church, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his son Jesse Jr.; daughter, Marietta Brunty; and four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Goldie M. (Hall) Brunty; four daughters, Ginny (Terry) Combs of Proctorville, Ohio, Tiny (Jr.) Ooten of Mount Zion, WV, Linda K. Owsley of Rittman, Ohio, and Chris (Gary) Branham of Boones Camp, KY; two brothers Bobby and Clarence Brunty of Lincoln Co., WV; ten grandchildren, Christie, Arnie, TJ, Melissa, Lori, Gary Jr., Mary, Julie, Chad, and Kimmy; including 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday October 29, 2009 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio and one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday October 30, 2009 at Lucinda United Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Salmons will be officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Memorial Gardens. Goldie & Family-- I am so sorry to hear about 'Brunty' (that's what we always called him). As you all know, he was a Great man. I will never forget him and Goldie---they were great neighbors when they lived on Double Creek just down the road from us. I will always remember his smile, his laugh and his hunting stories!!
