Bennie Lou Simpkins, 74 of Proctorville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 while in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born March 6, 1935 in Cabell County, WV. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Simpkins and Bernice Simpson Lucas; one sister Betty Deal. He is survived by two daughters; Ruth Cyrus and her four children Johnny, Dreama, Brenda and Carolyn; Sharon Evans and her three children Tracie, Toni and Jarrod; two sons; Hobert Adkins and his three children David, Jason and Zack; Bobby Simpkins and his two children Alexis and Haley and numerous great grandchildren. He was a Laborer through Local Union #543, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Tom Jones. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Was so sorry to hear about Bennie I so much enjoyed the times that I had the opportunity to be in church with him. I always remember that smile and how much he loved and was dedicated to the Lord and the Lords work. Im sure he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Sorry for your loss.Benny was such a great person. I loved listening to him sing when he came to our church and when he went to the nursing home when our church went and played his guitar and sang for the people there. He will be truly missed.
