Samuel D HarrisSamuel D. Harris Jr at the age of 72 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday Nov. 06, 2009 at a local care center. He was born on Dec. 12, 1936 in Weldon, NC to Samuel and Estelle Harris Sr. Sam serviced in the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1957. He married Charlotte Hudson Oct. 12, 2007 in Kendall County. Sam was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Kerrville. He retired from International Paper Co. in North Carolina and after retirement he loved to work at Wal-Mart's in Kerrville, Texas. Sam loved to fish, hunt, bird watch, travel, music, his church family and playing Bingo. He is preceded in death by his parent's, first wife Lynn, sister Jacquelyn Thompson.

Sam is survived by his wife Charlotte Harris of Ingram, Texas; sons Sammy Harris and wife BG and Bruce Harris and wife Cassie both of Cary, NC.; brothers William Harris and wife Kathy and Daniel Harris and wife Rose both of Roanoke Rapids, NC; sisters Lois Russell and husband Joseph, Darlene Wolgemuth and Louise Harris all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; 4 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.

Memorial services will be held 11am, on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at Victory Baptist Church in Kerrville (510 Mill Run Rd.) with Pastor Day officiating the services and a memorial services will be held at a later date in NC.
