My sincere condolences to the family. I was Tom's Spanish teacher in high school. In fact, he was in my very first class when I began teaching in 1970. I had not seen Tom since his high school days, but I certainly remember him well. He was always cheerful, good memories only. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I am saddened at the loss of Tom. Tom was a friend of mine and I worked with him at South Charleston PD until his retirement. I left South Charleston in 2002 and moved to Columbus to attend law school. This did not surprise Tom and I ran into him a little over a year ago at a Cross Lanes restaurant. Tom and I were able to briefly catch up on things. He laughed when he heard who I married as she also used to work for the City of South Charleston. He spoke very highly of her and reminded me how lucky I was to have married her. Tom was like that. He was fun to talk to and maybe even difficult at times. He was honest with you if he didn't like something. We often talked of our southern Ohio roots as he was from Lawrence County and I from Jackson County. I enjoyed the time I spent with him. My heart and well as that of my wife Beth (Stone) goes out to Nick and Beth during this difficult time. May God see you through this time.

Beth, Nick and Mrs. Wagner, It breaks my heart to hear of Tom's passing. I loved him dearly. He was a very dear friend to me. There are so many good things I have to say about Tom, but you already know these things. Please know he will be missed by many who knew that when Tom was your friend, you had something special in him. I pray that God will give you the grace you need to see you through this terrible time. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you, Debbie
