Ruth Melva Patterson, 90, born March 25, 1919, passed into her Savior's arms Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at her grandson, Stephen and Cinderella Patterson's home in Easley, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Patterson and three brothers, David Short, Manford Short, and Vince Short; and one sister Elizabeth. She is survived by her son, Frederick H. Patterson of Proctorville, Ohio; brother Oscar and Beaulah Short of Lesage, WV; a sister Connie and Lloyd Spurlock of Glenwood, WV; Richard Patterson of Huntington; Madeline Bolin of Grand Juction, CO; Donald and Phyllis Pike of Easley, SC; Lois Joanne Pike of Easley, SC; Charles and Sharone Edmunds of Fromberg, MT; three grandsons Frederick D. Patterson of Apex, NC, Kevin and Brandy Patterson of Raeford, NC, and Stephen Nance at home; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their families. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Proctorville and was baptized many years ago. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2009 at First Baptist Church Proctorville by Pastor Jeff Black. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio.
