 Evelyn Jean Sorensen age 80 of Greenville died Thursday December 3, 2009 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City, Florida. She was born in Grand Rapids MI on February 8,1929 the daughter of Peter and Margaret Vangronigen Schuel. She married Jerry Sorensen in Grand Rapids on March 17,1950 and helped him in the family business in Trufant. She was a member of Greenville Community Church and enjoyed being Grandma Ev to many people.
She is survived by her children, Rick (Shelly) Sorensen, Randy (Maggie) Sorensen and Tami (Douglas) Hutson all of Greenville, her grandchildren, Ann (Chip) Johnson, Kate Sorensen, Randy (Jackie) Sorensen, Amanda Sorensen, Sarah (Eric) Phillips, Matt Chivell, Ruth (Dennis) Baney, Zach (Jessica) Chivell, Isaac Hutson, Hannah Hutson and Hope Hutson, great grandchildren, Elise, Sophia, Alex, Emma, Abby, Ella and Madalyn, Sister Margaret (Jerry) Brott of Byron Center, sisters-in-law, Alice Schuel of Grand Rapids and Shirley (Fritz) Haglund of Greenville and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry September 29,1986 and also her brothers Ray and Herm Schuel and sister Jeanette Benedict.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 AM December 9,2009 at Greenville Community Church with Revs. Joel Heron and Wayne Otto officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. Burial will be in Trufant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Greenville Community Church or Hernando Pasco Hospice. |

Our hearts are broke and saddened by Ev's passing. She was always there with words of wisdom and a constant source of friendship since the day we met her and the whole Sorensen family. Rick, Shelly, Kate, Ann, Tami, Doug, Randy and Maggie our hearts and prayers are with you all. We will miss Ev and her sweet spirit!
