1986 - 2009
 Michael Joseph Hatten, 23, of Chesapeake, Ohio, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer on Monday December 14, 2009. He was born February 20, 1986, a son of Judy L. Adkins. He graduated from Chesapeake High School in 2005. He is survived by his mother, Judy Adkins; step-dad Joe Adkins; and one brother Jerry C. Herald all of Chesapeake, Ohio; grandmother Barbara Patrick of Huntington; grandpa Will Hatten of South Point, Ohio; and Ted and Marie Hatfield of Huntington; and many uncles and aunts that loved him very much. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday December 18, 2009 at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Wayne Carter. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery Kenova, WV. Visitation will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. The family would like to thank University of Kentucky for their support, and a special thank you to Dr. Timothy Mullett from Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, KY. Hey Judy I'm sorry that this had to happen to you and Joe. Michael was a perfect gentleman, a perfect son for you and a perfect friend for me. I will always pray that he will rest in piece and be with our Lord to watch over us all. And I will also pray that we may see him once again someday. Levi and I have always felt that he was the only friend we had that thought about having faith to set goals for the future. And we still feel that to this day. Bless you for letting him be our buddy.

Judy I am sorry for your loss. There is no right thing or easy thing to say at a time like this but I do hope you can find some peace in knowing that is no longer suffering from pain and discomfort and that he will always be smiling down upon you.
