Lontus H. Malcolm, 82, of Chesapeake, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House surrounded by his family and friends. He was born August 4, 1927 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Lloyd and Anzo Prince Malcolm. He attended New Hope United Methodist Church in Proctorville, Ohio and retired from AK Steel Ashland, KY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Short Malcolm; two sisters, Kathleen Malcolm Booth and Maxine Malcolm Peterson; and a brother Leo Malcolm. Surviving are one niece and her husband, Pamela Booth and Michael Laswell and their two daughters and their families, Beth and Chris Schinstock, Madison, and Hunter, and Kim and Kenny Mackey and Ryan; one nephew, Bob Peterson and his wife Cindy. Also surviving are a sister-in-law Janie Malcolm and two very special friends who were his caregivers, Jack and Mary Ann Howard. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jack and Mary Ann Howard, who were like his children, for all the loving care they gave Lontus. Also a special thanks to all the staff at the Hospice House of Huntington for their kindness and care during Lontus' s short stay. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 19, 2009 at Hillcrest Cemetery Kenova, WV by Rev. Greg Inboden. Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
