I had the great pleasure of knowing Cindy Thomas Langona during High School in Quincy, IL. Over the years, I've always thought about her and was recently trying to reconnect when I learned of her passing. She was a great young lady in H.S. - full of energy, life and occasionally a little mischief. She enjoyed many friends, her music, her God and life. Judging by the condolences that have been written, Cindy helped and touched lot of folks, raised a family and had a full life. I'm happy she shared her many talents and left a positive mark on the world. I'll always remember her - her smile, her eyes, her kindness, her playfulness and her sense of humor. She was a very special person. Mike and family, I hope you can cherish and celebrate your years with her and remember all the good times. Respectfully, Bill Edwards

Cynthia was my good friend at Yankton College. She and Michael and Steve and I spent a lot of time together. I was trying to find her, and I am saddened to hear of her passing. She and Michael came to visit us in Washingto DC with their your daughters, Bree and Elizabeth. Please know that I loved your Mother very, very much and wish I had known of her passing. Michael, I would like very much to speak with you, if possible. I am so very sorry.

Beautiful dancing eyes framed by bouncing light brown curls underscored with her radiant smile. Extraordinary ability to see inborn if yet undisclosed gifts in those around her. A truly steadfast faith in God and the power of His love to accomplish any and all things underpinning all she committed her life to doing. Oh, Cynthia, how you will be missed and, oh, how happy you surely are now with Him. Much love and many prayers to you Mike, to Bree and to Ellie. And to you her grandchildren whom I knew only as a dream in her heart but whom I am sure filled her life with great joy may you grow to walk in faith as she did...step after step, day by day. I was deeply saddened to hear of Mrs. Langona's passing (I could never get used to "Cynthia"). Mrs. Langona meant so much to me and many others. What a dear and cherished person. I haven't been asked to recite the Prologue to Cantebury Tales at any interviews as of yet, but I'm still prepared for that moment - thanks to Mrs. Langona. My thoughts are with the Langona family.

Of course there is no way to express what Cynthia meant to me in this tiny space--a real paper letter will have to try for that, and will still be insufficient! Cynthia is always going to be one of the people I draw inspiration from. She was such a wonderful person and we'll all miss the incredible light and joy she brought to all our lives...I am thinking of you every day, Mike, and the rest of the family too.

To the family of Mrs. Langona, I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Langona. We have fond memories of her, as our 16 year old, Christopher, went to kindergarten at Christ Academy. (He was buddies with Jonathan.) As a Christian, I rejoice that we will meet again one day in Heaven. May your memories comfort you in your time of sorrow. Her legacy is surely the lives she touched, the many people she taught and the many she loved. You will be in my prayers.

We are so sorry to hear of Cynthia's passing. We are grateful for the friendship we enjoyed with her and her family. She was a great influence on our son Ben in his years at Gallia Christian School. I remember him coming home as a Freshman in high school, saying, "That Ophelia is such a dip!" Under her influence, literature was a very personal thing.

Michael,Bree,Elizabeth, I was so sorry to hear of Cynthia passing. She was such an inspiration at New Life when Katy and Jimmy were growing up. She meant a lot to all of us and I will always remember her kindness. One of my special memories of she and Mike is the time the Sunday School class met at your home and a play was taped for the Sunday service. Katy played Mary and Jim was Jophess [his pronunciation at the time] the innkeeper. I also very much appreciated all the help and planning that she and Mike put into the youth groups trip to New Orleans. I wish that I could have seen or talked to her before she passed. She will be truly missed. Sue,Wade, Katy and Jim Henson

May you find the courage to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today. At this time of sorrow may these truths sustain you.....your loved one will always be as close as a memory and the God of all comfort is always as close as a prayer. I have fought the fine fight, I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith.-2Timothy 4:7. As for me, I will lie down that I may sleep; I shall certainly awake, for Jehovah himself keeps supporting me. -Psalms 3:5

We have lost an angel here on earth but Heaven has gained one. There has never been, nor will there ever be a teacher as great as Cynthia Langona. She made teaching and learning an experience. It was not about just reading- she brought the words to life. She always KNEW her students strengths and weaknesses. I remember her asking if I wanted to sing and dance for a play. I was quick to inform her that I could not sing and was embarrased to dance. Before I knew it, I had a solo. She could encourage and inspire a person to do things they would never think they were capable of doing. I feel blessed to have known her and to have been taught by her. I would love for my children to have experienced her gift.

Mrs. Langona was an exceptional teacher and her impact on the lives of future students will be missed dearly. I can say without a doubt that of her teaching and instruction I would not be the person I am today. Her teaching was more than book studies; it was character development that along with academics molded students into good moral adults. She was more than a teacher to me; she was also someone I could count as a friend.

I miss you already.
