George T. Earl, 81, of South Point, Ohio passed away Sunday January 10, 2010 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born August 8, 1928 in Proctorville, Ohio, son of the late Frank and Rosa B. Short Earl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rose P. Earl. He was a retired Crane operator and a member of Proctorville VFW Post #6878. George is survived by three daughters, Brenda McIe of Baltimore, MD, Patricia Miller of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Sandra Hill of South Point, Ohio; two sons Richard Earl of South Point, Ohio and George M. Earl of Huntington, WV; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 26 great great grandchildren; two brothers Earnest Earl of Proctorville and Frank Earl of Chesapeake, Ohio; two sisters Elsie Floyd of South Point, Ohio and Romaine Keaton of Dublin, Ohio. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home by Rev. Earnest Earl. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military rites. The family would like to express a special thanks to his grandson Edward Burgess for being Pops' handyman, his grandson Brian Burgess for being Pops' mechanic, his niece Debbie McGraw for being there for him, and a special thanks to James Sutter and his fishing buddy Fred. I am sad to hear of Uncle George's passing. I just found out this a.m. (Wed 1/13/09), and I am in Mo. and can not make it back. My condolences to all the family and from my family to yours. My memories of George are all good and wish the best for all
