Francis Eugene Tyler, 80, Vinton, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2010, in the Holzer Senior Care, Bidwell, Ohio. He was a Wilkesville High School Graduate, Class of 1948, a US Navy Veteran, a dedicated member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Ewington, and the Huntington Grange, Vinton. In addition he served as a troop leader for the Vinton Boy Scouts and was a past volunteer fireman for the Vinton Fire Department. He was a salesman for The Central Supply Co. in Gallipolis for many years and retired in 1995.

Francis was born on September 3, 1929, in Wilkesville, son of the late Keith Kent Tyler and Helen Mae Levis Tyler. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Fitch) Tyler of Vinton and two sons, Tym (Lisa) Tyler and children, Clair and Sarah of Granville, Ohio and John (Diana) Tyler and son, Colton of Westerville, Ohio; a step-daughter, Brenda Franklin and children, Amber, Jamie and Caleb of Coolville, Ohio; one brother and two sisters: Lee (Virginia) Tyler of Addison, Jane Ann (Don) Burns of Wilkesville, and Janice Wedemeyer of Bidwell, Ohio.

Also surviving are several additional brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sharon (Rev. Eugene) Harmon of Gallipolis, Ohio; Pauline (Bill) Miller of Springfield, Ohio; Bill (Judy) Fitch of Denver, Colorado; Leon (Maxine) Fitch of Ft. Wayne,Indiana; Lucille Ford of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia; Charles Keesee of Lambertville, Michigan; Joyce Fitch of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Ewington, with Rev. David Stulley officiating. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post 161. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, on Tuesday, 5:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers Memorial Gifts may be given to the Ewington Church of Christ in Christian Union, c/o Ms. Joyce Twyman, 176 Ewington Rd., Vinton, Ohio 45686.
